Here is a fun game we play. We write 100 words about a prompt, and then our friends do the same. Here’s the prompt:
Here is what I wrote:
He held her close before telling her the terrible news. I wish I had been brave enough to hold her like this for another reason.
“It seems,” he tried, then shook his head when she looked up at him, those confident eyes so swollen.
“It seems your house burned down,” he choked out.
“Was my father inside?”
He nodded, but didn’t expect the look of relief on her face.
“Really?” she demanded. “Then its over. All the hurt, all the alcohol, all of it.”
He shook his head. “No there’re officers outside asking for you. They think you did it.”
